Who would be the audience for your media product?
Our media product is based on films such as The Hitman by Xavier Genz, The James Bond Series, The Bourne series, and other big on films of the generation. these films all use guns, violence, swearing and general unsuitable ideals for the younger generation. This would mean our film is aimed at an older generation, while still interesting the young teenagers and mid-teens alike.
Our film is a serious drama about a hit-man, he opening starts with a scene that seems to be heading into a violent end - showing the action genre. We used this to attract out target audience of male teens aged 15 - 21 who like the action genre. The male side of our film taken through the use of male-dominant characters and violence, and the age rating shown buy the stereotypically young props used in the opening - the guns, motorbikes etc. The film could also attract older ages (middle aged men and women) through the other side of the opening we have to, the use of the main character, who seems to have a family size house and is shown getting out of a bed, showing that he must have some sort of family and the modern-aged target market can therefore connect to this.
If I had to choose an age rating for this film, I would probably put it at either a 12A or a 15. This is due to certification and age ratings set by the BBFC that tells films what sort of ages they're allowed to be shown too. Our film viewers would be mature enough to cope with the violence and unsuitable ideas in our film, however we would one our film down enough to make it less than an 18 rating, so that 16 to 17 year olds would not be cut out of the viewers.
