Trailer

A Film trailer is a preview or advertisement of a feature film that is going to be shown. It is used to show an array of moments from the film to entice an audience to watch the full film.
A Film trailer should....
- Give a brief story line
- Identify major themes and genre of the film
- Identify filmmakers intentions with the film
- Draw viewer in / prepare viewer / set up viewer expectations

A Film Opening

A film opening is the first couple of minutes of the film. Often nothing too monumental happens in the opening, however it sets up the rest of the film and keeps the viewer interested.
A Film opening should....
- Set up the story line /  main theme of the film
- Give major titles of the film (Production company / major actors / Film name)
- give indication of place / scene
- give indication of period (Historical / modern etc)
- Give indication of genre
